Our Philosophy

The foundation of our service is based on Corrective Exercise and High-performance Kinesiology. This approach is unique in that it involves a comprehensive system of integrated health concepts, biomechanical analysis, musculoskeletal evaluation, and core stabilization threshold. This system allows us to design effective fitness, sports and rehabilitation programs. An explanation of each of these variables is as follows.

Integrated Health Concepts
This philosophy involves what is called by kinesiologist George Goodheardt as the Triad of health. The Triad involves the chemical, mental and physical aspects of an individual's health and physical performance. To maintain consistent performance, a positive cycle or Triad must be maintained to prevent burnout and/or injury. Corrective Exercise and High-performance Kinesiology uses a system that promotes a positive Triad therefore putting the client in the optimal position to maintain a high-level of health and fitness.

Biomechanical Analysis
Each client is given what is known as a primal pattern assessment (TM). This evaluation was developed by Paul Chek and reveals one's natural movement skills and their ability to implement these natural movements in their environment. The results from this analysis are then used to design a program to improve fundamental movement skills that will reduce the potential for orthopedic injury and/ or ailments such as arthritis.

Musculoskeletal Evaluation
Balance within the musculoskeletal system is important for proper movement and joint health. Information gathered from a musculoskeletal examination can predict with great accuracy a client's likelihood of injury and may provide justification for conditions such as chronic pain and inflammation.

Core Stabilization Threshold
The center of the body is the foundation upon which all movements originate. It is also the place where most debilitating injuries such as low back pain often occur. Understanding a client's current level of core stabilization and conditioning will provide valuable information that will improve physical fitness and reduce the potential for life altering injury.
